A new API automates connectivity between B2W Software’s flagship estimating application and the data sources used to generate estimates. The API also enables a new Production Rate Actuals feature in B2W Estimate, giving estimators simplified access to current and historical performance data in the field. Information from B2W Track, a field tracking and analysis application, can be used to improve the accuracy of applied rates in current deals to ensure profitability, according to the company.
“The B2W Estimate API allows our users to create automated connections between the B2W Estimate database and other systems such as accounting, deal collection, and contact management applications,” said Pat Reitz. , product manager for B2W Estimate, in a prepared statement. “This eliminates the need to enter the same data in multiple places and ensures that all systems are always up to date with each other.”
Reitz cited the automated updating and retrieval of labor rates, equipment rates, and loads as examples of how the API can eliminate the need to search and enter data. The API can also automatically update prices and other information from organizations such as suppliers and subcontractors and keep job cost identification codes up to date and in sync between estimating systems and compatible.
Integrate actual figures from the field
The new B2W Production Rate Actuals feature gives estimators working in B2W Estimate instant access to actual productivity achieved on active and past jobs. Information is compiled from daily field logs completed with B2W Track.
“With just a few clicks and without leaving the B2W Estimate app, estimators can see what crews have actually accomplished for excavation, pipe laying, paving, or any other activity within a specified range of work,” said said Reitz. “They can then use this valuable information when formulating the current offer.”
Estimators at companies using B2W Estimate and B2W Track now have the ability to search for actual production rates by tracking or account IDs, depending on the company. They can filter the search by date range or project status and other variables. The Actual Production Rates feature shows them the production rates of the selected projects and calculates an average over any combination of projects they select.
