Delaware State Police Arrest Subject for Stealing Building Materials – Town Square Delaware LIVE

Delaware State Police arrested a 49-year-old man Ronnie Rust of Seaford, DE, for theft and trespassing following an investigation into stolen building materials Thursday afternoon.

On May 5, 2022, at approximately 3:10 p.m., soldiers responded to the 7000 block of Gum Branch Road in Seaford regarding a robbery. The ensuing investigation revealed that the owner had had numerous sheets of plywood stolen from the property of a residence under construction. On May 6, 2022, the 4 Troop Property Crime Unit began searching for the suspect and detectives contacted Ronnie Rust at the Relax Inn in Laurel. Rust was subsequently taken into custody without incident. The stolen wood was later located and recovered from a residence in Seaford.

Rust was transported to Troop 5, where he was charged with the following crimes:

Theft over $1,500 (felony) Third degree criminal trespass

Rust was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace in Court No. 2 and released on his own recognizance.
